Dexter Village Events
Dexter's official history predates that of the state of Michigan by 13 years, having been founded in 1824 by Samuel William Dexter. Today, Dexter village is a thriving community. We encourage you to explore Dexter's many treasures before or after your massage...
Enjoy browsing charming shops like the Life is Good store, or dining at local restaurants, including the popular Bistro Renaissance, Dexter's Pub and Terry B's. In the spring and summer, enjoy a sundae from the Dairy Queen while relaxing on the gazebo steps in Monument Park. In the fall, take a stroll down to the historic Dexter Cider Mill on the bank of the Huron River, or enjoy the solitude and beauty of nearby Hudson Mills Park. In the winter, cozy up with a warm coffee or cocoa at Bearclaw Coffee Co.
Parades are a local favorite, as is the Victorian Christmas, Apple Daze and the annual Dexter Daze event that is held each August. Body Wisdom has participated in every Dexter Daze celebration since 2003 by providing free five-minute chair massages. Watch for us at the next Dexter Daze event held the second full weekend of August.

Charities we support:
Every year Food Gatherers puts on an event “Grillin for the Hungry,”
to raise money for their cause. For the past 5 years Susan and Bekah
have been proud to participate giving donors free chair massages and
meeting so many caring and inspiring individuals. Food Gatherers exists
to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community by: reducing
food waste through the rescue and distribution of perishable and non-perishable
food, coordinating with other hunger relief providers, educating the
public about hunger, and developing new food resources.
Food Gatherers
is not only Michigan’s first food rescue program, but also the
first program of its kind to be founded by a for-profit business, our
own Zingerman’s Delicatessen. Today, Food Gatherers is now the
primary distributor of food in Washtenaw County.
Food Gatherers
exists because of the caring and generosity of so many individuals in
the community.
